This Victorian decorative gold Albertina bracelet is an exquisite survivor of 19th-century ornamental engineering, originally derived from the Albert watch chain tradition and later adapted into a highly wearable bracelet form. Crafted in tested 9K gold, the piece demonstrates the era’s mastery of articulated construction, balance, and symbolic adornment.
The bracelet is composed of ornate fancy links, each articulated with star-motif rivet detailing and punctuated by softly domed gold beads. One terminal culminates in a finely worked gold tassel, its individual strands fluid and intact, while the opposing end features an original T-bar, allowing the bracelet to be worn in the traditional Albertina style or layered as a statement jewel.
The dog clip clasp is fully functional, and all links and fixtures remain in excellent condition—an increasingly rare combination for Victorian Albertinas, which were often separated or repurposed over time. Measuring approximately 10 inches end-to-end with a wearable length of 7.2 inches, the bracelet drapes beautifully on the wrist while retaining its historical integrity.
Both decorative and architectural, this piece speaks to Victorian ideals of craftsmanship, longevity, and personal symbolism. It is equally suited for wear or for inclusion in a serious antique jewelry collection. An additional heart photo locket has been added to the bracelet to keep in the Ma Couronne romantic style of love and remembrance.
